Project TENSOR Launches to Combat Traffic-Related Noise and Speeding in Strathcona County

Strathcona County, Alta. - Strathcona County Enforcement Services, with the assistance of the Strathcona County RCMP, have officially launched the 2024 TENSOR program with the successful completion of the Advance TENSOR Event (ATE) on April 26, 2024.

Project TENSOR, short for Traffic Enforcement Noise/Speed Offence Reduction, is a proven traffic initiative to reducing noise and speeding on County roadways. Originally developed to address traffic-related noise and speeding complaints, the program focuses on ensuring compliance with Traffic Safety Act regulations and promoting road safety.

During the Advance TENSOR Event, enforcement efforts were reinforced to educate and inform the motoring public about this year's program. The operation resulted in over 100 violations, including towing 5 vehicles, 26 report-back orders for vehicle repairs to meet provincial regulations, an impaired driver, suspended driver, and execution of several provincial warrants.

The enforcement agencies are dedicated to continuing their collaborative efforts throughout the year to uphold traffic safety standards and reduce noise and speeding offences in the community.
