Strathcona County Crime Watch Association partner with Strathcona County RCMP to host the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT) Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) unit for evening online safety presentation
Strathcona County, Alta. – Strathcona County Crime Watch Association, in partnership with the Strathcona County RCMP, will be hosting the ALERT ICE Unit at the Strathcona County Community Centre for an information session for parents and caregivers on the realities of internet child exploitation in Alberta, and strategies to navigate these issues.
This session is being held on April 17, 2025 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Strathcona County Council Chambers main floor of the Community Centre located at 2001 Sherwood Dr., Sherwood Park.
Some of the topics that will be discussed include:
- Who the ALERT ICE unit are and what they do
- The internet and social media
- Child luring and sextortion
- Artificial intelligence and emerging online sites/apps
- How we can work together to keep kids safe online
