Strathcona County RCMP arrest female following a traffic stop

Strathcona County, Alta. – On July 29, 2023, at approximately 2:42 a.m., Strathcona County RCMP were conducting speed enforcement on Highway 216 near Baseline Road in Sherwood Park, Alta.

A vehicle was observed travelling at a high rate of speed and determined the vehicle was travelling over 182 km/h in a 100 km/h speed zone. A traffic stop was conducted and in addition the female driver was believed to be impaired and transported back to the detachment to provide breath samples.

A 26-year-old female, resident of Edmonton, Alta. was charged with:

  • Impaired Driving
  • Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle

The female was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Sherwood Park Provincial Court on Sept. 6, 2023.
