Strathcona County RCMP complete search warrant following a reported robbery

 

Sherwood Park, Alta. – On Nov. 24, 2020 at approximately 5:15 a.m. Strathcona County RCMP responded to a robbery that occurred in the parking lot of the Holiday Day Inn located near Portage Lane in Sherwood Park.

A female reported that she was assaulted and her phone stolen when she approached a male suspect that had been observed breaking into vehicles. The female did not sustain any injuries as a result of this incident.

The suspects fled in a U-Haul and with the assistance of the Edmonton Police Service (EPS), the vehicle was located at a residence in Northeast Edmonton.

Police executed a search warrant at the residence resulting in the arrest of seven individuals from Edmonton, several of which had outstanding arrest warrants. During the search, police seized numerous tools and other items consistent with break and enters.

The investigation continues and charges are pending.
