Strathcona County RCMP Investigate Break and Enter at Local Jewelry Store
Sherwood Park, Alta. – On May 21, 2019, Strathcona County RCMP responded to a break and enter at Gem Gallerie on Broadmoor Blvd in Sherwood Park.
Sometime between the late evening of May 20, 2019 and early morning of May 21, 2019 unknown suspects forced entry into the jewelry store and fled with over $500,000 worth of jewelry.
Many of the pieces stolen were on consignment by individuals trying to sell their jewelry. Police believe this was not a crime of opportunity but a well thought out event.
"This is a devastating loss for Gem Gallerie and its client's, I am saddened most for our clients”, says owner Jacqueline St-Amand. “It is their loss that hurts the most, each of their pieces has a life story and memories behind them that can not be replaced.”
Strathcona County General Investigative Section and RCMP Forensic Identification Section continue to investigate.
Attached are photographs of some of the distinguishable pieces of jewelry that was taken during the break and enter.
