Strathcona County RCMP on scene at collision involving a semi-truck and overpass – Update #3

Sherwood Park, Alta. – Strathcona County RCMP are advising motorists that the west bound lanes of the Sherwood Park Freeway are open. North and south bound traffic on 34 Street is a single lane in both directions with no dedicated turning lane at this time. Speeds on 34 Street both north and south bound are reduced to 30 km/hr.

Strathcona County RCMP on scene at collision involving a semi-truck and overpass – Update #2

Sherwood Park, Alta. – Strathcona County RCMP are no longer on scene of the collision on Sherwood Park Freeway involving a semi-truck carrying a heavy load that was travelling on Sherwood Park Freeway when it struck the 34 Street overpass bridge.

A Volker Stevin engineer attended the scene to assess the damage to the 34 Street bridge and the bridge remains closed indefinitely.

Sherwood Park, Alta. – Strathcona County RCMP is advising that they are still on scene at this collision and the bridge is expected to be closed for many more hours. No traffic can proceed on the bridge (both directions), as well as on 34 Street.
