Strathcona County RCMP seeks public assistance in road rage incident
Strathcona County, Alta. – On May 9, 2023 at 5:38 p.m., Strathcona County RCMP received a report of a road rage incident that involved a serious assault. The two male drivers involved attended the detachment following the altercation. One of the males required medical attention as a result of the injuries sustained during the incident.
Police determined that at approximately 5:15 p.m., a black GMC Sierra and a White Toyota Tacoma were traveling southbound on Broadmoor Blvd between Highway 16 and Prairie Drive in Sherwood Park, Alta. Both vehicles stopped on the side of the road on Portage Lane and an altercation took place. At the time of the incident, a male driving a white pickup truck stopped briefly and said he recorded the altercation. To date this person has not come forward to police.
Both males were arrested for assault and released on an Undertaking with conditions. They are scheduled to appear in court on June 14, 2023 in Sherwood Park Provincial Court.
Strathcona County RCMP are seeking dashcam footage and witnesses in connection to this road rage incident.
