Strathcona County RCMP seize drugs following a traffic stop
Strathcona County, Alta. - On Aug. 8, 2024, at approximately 10:45 p.m., Strathcona County RCMP Crime Reduction Unit pulled over a vehicle on Emerald Drive following a traffic offence.
While speaking to the driver, the member observed contraband cigarettes in the vehicle, and the male was arrested. The vehicle was searched and was found to contain 59.53 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 3.50 grams of suspected cocaine, cane with hidden blade, and Canadian currency.
Shanon Mark Kelly (48), a resident of Sherwood Park, Alta. Was charged with:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose (x2)
- Possession of a concealed weapon
- Possession of unstamped Tobacco
Following a Judicial Interim Release Hearing, Shanon was released via a Promise to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Sherwood Park on Aug. 28, 2024.
