Strathcona RCMP Investigate Fatal Collision - Highway 216

Sherwood Park, Alta. – This morning at approximately 4:30 a.m., Strathcona County RCMP responded to a single vehicle collision on Highway 216 southbound, just north of Township Road 522.

 

Preliminary investigation revealed the vehicle was travelling southbound before going off the road and hitting a light standard.

 

Strathcona County RCMP, along with Emergency Medical Services attended the scene. The 49-year-old male lone occupant from Edmonton, Alta., was pronounced deceased on scene. The name of the deceased will not be released.

 

The cause of the collision remains under RCMP investigation.  No further updates about this collision are expected.
