Strathcona County RCMP Charge Male With Drug Trafficking

Strathcona County RCMP charge male with drug trafficking

Sherwood Park, Alta. – In August of 2024, members of the Strathcona County RCMP Drug Unit started an investigation into an individual selling drugs in Sherwood Park.

As a result of the investigation, on January 24, 2025, Strathcona County RCMP Drug Unit with the assistance of the St. Albert and Parkland RCMP, arrested one male and executed search warrants at three different locations in Sherwood Park and Edmonton.  As a result of the investigation, police seized over $15,000 worth of cocaine and over $20,000 in cash representing proceeds of crime, as well as other drug trafficking paraphernalia.

David Kelly (32), a resident of Edmonton, has been charged with the following:

  • Trafficking a controlled substance – Cocaine;
  • Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine;
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000;
  • Possess fraudulent identity document.

Kelly is scheduled to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Sherwood Park Court on March 26, 2025.
