Strathcona County RCMP Crime Reduction Unit executes search warrant

Strathcona County, Alta. – On Aug. 23, 2024, Strathcona County RCMP responded to a report of uttering threats at a residence in the Aspen trails area of Sherwood Park, Alta.

Police attempted to locate the suspect but were unsuccessful, and as a result, an arrest warrant was issued. The suspect had twelve outstanding warrants and was bound by several conditions. Strathcona County RCMP Crime Reduction Unit, with the assistance of the Edmonton Police Service, conducted a search warrant on a residence located in Edmonton, Alta. During the search, police located and seized switchblades, three swords, two machetes, multiple magazines and a baseball bat.

Jamie Schubinski (47), a resident of Edmonton, Alta. has been charged with:

  • Uttering threats (x2)
  • Criminal harassment (x2)
  • Harassing communications
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose (x6)
  • Possession of a weapon contrary to order (x2)

Jamie Schubinski was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Sherwood Park on Sept. 23, 2024.
