Strathcona County, Alta. - The occurrence date on the release should read May 27, 2019 at approximately 6:04 p.m. not May 28, 2019 at previously stated.

Strathcona County RCMP Respond To Structure Fire And Firearm Complaint

Strathcona County, Alta. - On May 28, 2019 at approximately 6:04 p.m. Strathcona County RCMP and Strathcona County Emergency Services responded to a structure fire and a distraught male in possession of a firearm near Range Road 204 and Township Road 545.

Containment was set up with the assistance of Edmonton Police Service Air One. The RCMP Emergency Response Team (ERT) entered the property where one adult male was located and declared deceased.

The structure fire consisting of a residence and outbuilding has been extinguished.

No other members of the public were injured during the incident.

Investigation is continuing and traffic is being rerouted in the immediate area until further notice.
